Along the Tiber at Night
“Along the Tiber at night” is a collection of photographs made on a warm spring night. Rome with its monuments and its hidden corners is the setting of the photographic shots. Roxana Guzman Armani, a young Venezuelan model, is the coprotagonist. She interprets the night spaces of the town with her poses. The path begins in the fairytale neighborhood Coppedé with its bizarre inventions and continues along the Tiber in the stretch between Castel Sant’Angelo and Tiberina Island. The scene is then placed in the winding streets of Trastevere with the pictoresque views of a lesser but not least impressive Rome. The night follows the troupe with its voids and silences.
The photographic technique of shooting takes on a different use of lights: environmental light for the background and a very intense flash light on the model. Thus, as the background fades in the magical and remote atmosphere of Rome at night, Roxana and her poses acquire truth and consistency. The key of the collection is in this contrast.
