Eclissi

This work represents an important aspect of Marco Appugliese's artistic research, a black and white style studied through measured contrasts of light and shadow with a very black background against which the sharp shapes of the silhouettes stand out, making them emerge with sudden and decisive flashes.

A pelle 01

The pores of the skin quiver under the light that investigates them through rigid masks of lines and squares.

Ballet is on the Scene

Work carried out in collaboration between the D.E.A. Dimension school and Marco Appugliese

Ligeia-1

Along the Tiber at Night

A photographic technique based on a different use of light: ambient light for the background and very intense, directional flash light on the model. As the background blurs, the poses acquire truth and consistency.

Silhouettes

A visually striking backlit collection created using a personal lighting system whose optical instruments were designed and built by the photographer himself.

La Classe

Class is a tribute to women, to their strength and grace, to the ability to be present without ostentation.

Towards the Sun!

A pelle 02

It sends shivers down your spine as you peer into the geometric meshes in which Appugliese has trapped his model's bodies. The pores of her skin are exposed under the light that examines them through rigid masks of lines and squares.

My Instagram Story

A collection selected from Marco Appugliese's personal Instagram profile to create a brief summary of the photographic genres covered.

Ligeia-2

Under Zephyr’s Breath

A collection of images taken on a cold and unusual spring day by the sea. Wind, clouds, sun, and rain alternated in accompanying the choreography.

High-Key

The high-key technique plays on the expressive possibilities of light tones, from whites to grays, by playing with exposure times, rendering shapes with subtle chiaroscuro. It is based on the combination of exposure times.

The colors of the face

A selection of photographs created in collaboration with makeup artist and hair stylist Valentina Amadio.

The five elements

Raccolta a colori

Demonia

Lydia is her own costume and makeup designer, and through her almost exclusive use of red and black, she ignites our every demonic fantasy. Directional lighting, sometimes intense, sometimes subdued, and a black backdrop enhance the dark atmosphere of the production.

Mano a mano

Photographic work at the circus: two tightrope walkers seem to come from another dimension due to their skill in playing with the law of gravity.
